There are two charts below. The first one is a bar chart, which illustrates that the reasons why the adults decide to study. The second one is a pie chart, which reveals the percentage of the educational costs shared by taxpayer, employer and individual. Clearly, the individual afforded the largest portion expenditure in the three groups.

As can be seen from the first chart, the highest percentage of adult, which stood at 40 percent, determined to study in the purpose of interest in subject. Moreover, the number of adults in pursuit of qualifications was only 2 percent less than that in interest, representing 38 percent of adults.

In addition, there were three groups of adults whose study motivations were affected by different career factors in the survey. For example, 22 percent of adults studied for their current jobs, which is the relatively highest part among the groups, compared with 12 percent of people studying for the preparation of changing works in the future and 20 percent for promotion. However, there was still the slightest percentage of adults surveyed studying for meeting people.

The second graph unfolds that 40 percent of educational expenses was shared by the adults themselves. The remainders were divided by employer and taxpayer, into 35% and 25% respectively.

In conclusion, there are a variety of motives for the study of adults and people think the costs of adult education should be afforded by the individual and society, with the individual having the lion’s share.
